All of our vehicles are at a minimum covered by third-party liability insurance.
In the event that damage to the rental vehicle exceeds the "security deposit" amount, the renter will be liable for the payment of the excess.
Additionally, partial insurance and full coverage (all-risk) insurance are available as optional add-ons.
U Drive offers vehicle delivery and pickup at your desired location. If airport pickup or drop-off is requested, a one-time fee of $20 will apply. This fee is necessary as private car rental services do not have an airport desk to facilitate client pickups without charge.
Delivery and pickup to any other location on the island are provided free of charge.
Rental Requirements: You must meet the minimum age requirement and possess a valid driver's license.
Reservation and Rental Period: You need to make a reservation in advance, specifying the desired rental period. The rental period usually begins and ends at specified times on specific dates. Late returns may incur additional charges.
Rental Rates and Payments: You are typically responsible for paying the rental charges, taxes, fees, and any additional services requested (e.g., child seats). U Drive Car Rental may require a deposit.
Insurance and Liability: The rental vehicle is usually covered by basic or special rental insurance. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance coverage to reduce your liability. Any damages or loss incurred during the rental period, including theft, accidents, or negligence, is the lessees responsibility.
Fuel Policy: You are required to return the rental car with the same amount of fuel as when you picked it up. Failure to do so will result in refueling charges. (See FAQs)
Additional Drivers: You are allowed to add additional drivers to the rental agreement, subject to meeting certain criteria (mentioned in the FAQs) and paying a 3$ a day fee. All drivers must be listed in the rental agreement and meet the age and license requirements.
Rental restrictions and prohibited activities: U Drive Car Rental restricts/prohibits the following actions. If any of these prohibitions are violated the Lessor reserves the right to terminate the rental agreement immediately and reclaim the rental vehicle if Renter violates the no smoking policy. In such cases, no refund or compensation will be provided for the remaining rental period. (7A) (Geographical boundaries). Off-roading is prohibited, meaning roads that are not marked as normal driving roads on a road map. (7B) (Towing). The lessee is strictly prohibited from towing any other vehicles, trailers, or objects using the rental vehicle provided by the lessor. Violating these restrictions will result in additional charges or voiding of insurance coverage. (7C) (Smoking). The lessee is strictly prohibited from smoking, including but not limited to the use of cigarettes, cigars, pipes, electronic cigarettes, or any other smoking devices, inside the rental vehicle provided by the lessor. The no smoking policy is in place to promote the health and safety of all occupants of the rental vehicle, including subsequent renters who may have allergies or sensitivities to smoke. In the event of a smoking violation, the Lessor reserves the right to charge Renter for cleaning or repair costs associated with restoring the rental vehicle to its original smoke-free condition. This may include charges for professional cleaning, replacement of upholstery or other affected parts, and any administrative fees.
Cancellation and Modification: Cancellation and modification policies involve fees for last-minute changes or cancellations. It's important to understand the specific terms regarding cancellations and modifications before finalizing your reservation. Please see FAQs.
Rental fee's are paid before stipulated rental date or up front.
Condition of the Vehicle: You are expected to return the rental car in the same condition it was rented, apart from normal wear and tear. Any excessive cleaning or damage beyond what is considered normal may result in additional fees or charges.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction: The rental vehicle shall be used solely for lawful purposes and in accordance with all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and any other legal requirements of the jurisdiction in which the vehicle is being operated. Lessee agrees not to engage in any activities that are illegal, prohibited by law, or that may pose a risk to public safety or the condition of the rental vehicle. This includes but is not limited to driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs, reckless driving, speeding, and any other unlawful or dangerous behavior. Lessee assumes full responsibility for any traffic violations, parking tickets, or other penalties incurred while operating the rental vehicle. Lessee agrees to promptly pay any fines or penalties and to reimburse the Lessor for any costs associated with such violations. Lessee agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold the Lessor harmless from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses arising from Lessee's non-compliance with applicable laws or regulations while using the rental vehicle. If the rental vehicle is impounded or confiscated by law enforcement due to Lessee's violation of the law, Lessee shall be responsible for all associated costs, including impound fees, fines, and any expenses incurred for the release of the vehicle.
In case of collision or accident, the lessee must report it instantly to law enforcement authorities (phone number 911), Forensys (phone number 199) and to the lessor, and must not leave the scene of the accident or collision until such action has been taken and after the police and Forensys has arrived on the scene.
Lessees Responsibility: Lessees are solely responsible for safeguarding their personal property and ensuring its protection against theft or damage. It is strongly recommended that no belongings are left visible in the rental vehicle. Lessor is not liable for any theft or damage to lessees property.
